Blahs....
OK...now I'm in a pissy mood. Blogger is "burping" on me and I've already lost most of the original post. Bah.
Did you ever just feel incredibly “blah?” I’ve been feeling this way for over a week now and I’m getting so sick of it. All I want to do is crawl into bed and sleep, which is basically what I did for my entire Spring Break. Not good. I know.
A lot of stuff has been going on. This weekend I dropped off the rest of Moose’s medical supplies to RBARI, a local private non-kill shelter. It was heartbreaking to part with what to me were the last remnants of him, but I had to. I needed to know that these supplies were going to good use. It sounds weird but I think Moose would’ve wanted that too.
I also got a present from my vet’s office: a small clay plaque with Moose’s paw print in it. Oh, how I cried when I got that! It was the good kind of tears though. It was such a small gesture on the part of my vet but it meant so much and now I have a treasure of Moose that I wasn’t expecting to have.
The weather isn’t helping either. We had a nice snow storm last week, but I’m getting to the point that snow is starting to get on my nerves. It’s the typical end-of-winter type of feeling even for folks like me who love snow. It’s like “enough is enough.” Today, we’re getting pounded with another storm but this time it’s rain. Rain to me is just so much worse than snow. At least snow seems to bring some brightness with it. Snowy days just don’t feel nearly as gloomy as rainy days for some reason. Rain + depression = really bad combination.
On top of all of this, I think I’m just a tad bit fried from school, even with the week off. I am so thankful I ended up dropping that fourth class ‘cause I would be a complete basket case if I had stayed with it. My depression has been kicking in a lot lately which has killed my motivation to do anything. I’m just glad that all the projects were due before the Break ‘cause I doubt I would’ve gotten them done otherwise.
Oh ya…I did complete my first animation: Fizzy’s First Christmas. I would love to post it up on the internet but the file is like 750mb which is just way too large to upload (and for you to download). I tried compressing the file and got it down to 500mb but the quality was starting to go really downhill. :( Oh well. At least I thought it turned out well, and amazingly my project wasn’t the longest or the largest! Go figure.
My 3D project came out well. We’re not animating anything yet. So our first assignment was more of a modeling assignment. I got stuck with a plastic bottle that was cut out so it could be used to scoop water out of a boat. Fun. :P By the end of the project, I really wanted to throw that stupid bottle out the window. Here are a few screen captures of it. I was bored with just the white bottle so I threw in a couple of different versions of it. The one on the left is textured to look like it was made out of pink glass and the one on the right to look like purple metal.

The globe thingy in the middle is just something I was playing around with. It started out to be a blue ball inside a glass ball but then I started playing around with the index of refraction and a few other things and I got this cool effect. Pretty neat, eh? Here is a close up in a better resolution:

My next assignment for 3D is to create two characters from a video game about depression. I've got some good ideas for this, including making one of the characters Depression itself. I can get very dark and deep with this project and I'm looking forward to it. :)
