Pressure

You know those really annoying motivational posters that you see all over businesses? The ones with the pretty images and a cute little phrase that is designed to make you feel better about your hellish work conditions? Ya, you know. Annoying things, aren't they. Today I found the most perfect one for the way things have been recently:

Hehe. Got to love it. I found it at Despair, Inc. It seems they make a whole line of these. I think I can find a few others that will be rather fitting for me. :)

And yes, I have been under a lot of pressure, which is why all of my blogs haven't been updated in ages. Since I got back from my trip to Florida I've been under the gun to get two projects completed in time for the George Stickel Film Festival at school.

The first project was the group project for my 2D Animation II class. We did a "policy trailer" for a local film theater. It's the bit of film where you ask them to turn off the cell phones, buy soda and candy, etc. right before the feature. That one was a royal PITA because we were waiting for one student to get his stuff in, which he never did. We ended up having to do a bunch of animation from scratch to make up for the lost footage, but we got it done in time for the festival. It still needs work, but it was good enough.

The other project was a bit of a headache. Francis wanted me to take the piece I did last semester where I used rotoscopy to 3D animate a cat chasing after a balloon string. I've been spending all semester expanding on this and improving the scene. I was down to the wire with this project because it was supposedly due on the 3rd but I got an extension to the 10th and I was working into late Sunday getting this done. But I did get it in and it's good enough.

Here's a version of it if you want to check it out. It's been grossly condensed so the image quality kind of sucks and is a bit jumpy. I guess that's what I get for shrinking a 276mb project to 2.5mb. LOL It still needs some work before I put it in my demo reel, but I'm happy with the first half of it so far. Oh ya, you need the audio on to fully enjoy it. :)
