Is there anybody out there?

Yes, I am alive.  I've been thinking of starting up my blog all the time but time constraints have always been an issue with me.  I do miss writing though and I also miss the community of bloggers.  Don't worry.  While I'm not commenting on your blogs, I'm definitely reading them.  I get much enjoyment out of them, especially those devoted to the kitties.

A lot has happened in the past year.  I got into an Masters of Social Work program at a state university that is driving me insane.  It has more to do with the cost of the program--something I'll get into later--rather than the education itself.  It is an online program so I can work it into my crazy schedule.  I am enjoying myself tremendously, though, as I love the material and feel like I'm making a difference in the world.  I just hope I make enough when I graduate to pay off all of my student loans.  LOL.

I am also teaching at three colleges now instead of two.  I'm still at Rural College and Rich Kid's College, though I changed departments in the latter to get rid of the Dickmeister.  Him taking away that summer class from me was the last straw.  Now, I'm also teaching at Inner City College, which is actually turning out well.  The pay is almost 30% higher than the other two and I get some decent perks there.  If things turn out the way I want them to, Rich Kid's College will be out of my life shortly.  Even in the new department the politics of the place and the craptastic students don't make it worth the commute or the headaches.

That's all for now.  I just wanted to see if anybody still checks this blog out.  I know it has been a while but please post something in the comments if you're still reading it so I can feel a bit better about myself. ;)

Until then, here's a great picture of Shadow sticking his tongue out, which we're positive is a sign that he is happy.  He is a weird kitty but we love him.
