One Professor to Another
Something on the Chronicle of Higher Education boards I came across. The topic was "Students Believe the Darndest Things." Professor 1: I once had a student who was absolutely amazed to learn that everything was made of atoms .....even snot (she asked). Professor 2 replied: You should have told her no, everything except snot. In fact, many astrophysicists suspect that Dark Matter may indeed be composed mostly of human snot. It's the viscosity of the stuff that causes it to lag behind a bit in galaxy clusters. I literally blew the water I was drinking out of my nose with that one from laughing so hard. Yes, academia is weird.
