This is going to be a fun semester...

...NOT!

I decided to teach six classes this semester. Why? Well, the extra money is always nice but the main reason was to teach a current events class. I used to teach the class when I was an adjunct many moons ago but since it's not a "priority" class, I haven't been able to teach it since I became full-time. With this being an election year I desperately wanted to teach it. It would mean a heftier work load for me but after I talked to Bear about it, I decided to do it.

On Wednesday, I get a frantic call from the dean's secretary. There's a class that needs to be covered. I'm thinking "no fucking way." Seven classes is just nuts. Also, I already have five different class preps with the six classes I had. Adding this class would mean an additional prep. Nope. Nada. No way.

It's Thursday and I'm walking to my office when I hear the dean calling "Cat! Cat!" Uh oh. The dean pleaded with me to take the class. Part of me wanted to laugh in her face and say "oh nay nay." However, another part of me was thinking long term: namely, if I did this favor for the dean she will remember the next time a tenure line opens (at least hopefully). So I agreed. Now I think I'm just fucking nuts. The one thing that makes it less painful is that it's a course I've taught a gazillion times. Even though I need to update my notes and write new assignments and tests, I could teach this one in my sleep.

Oh, and to make things more interesting, I'm taking a training class this semester to teach online courses. This includes developing a course to be taught next semester.

I better enjoy my sanity now while I still have it.

Yikes! You are most definitely gonna be one busy teachin' foo'.

But the thing that got me all jumping for joy with this post is your use of the word "moon". I have been doing some serious blog visiting in the past several months, and I have now ascertained that we are the only two human animals (my friends call me Dog, actually) in the entire blogosphere that use "moon" as a time reference.

Cat, I feel this is the beginning of a wonderful relationship.

Later on. Over and out.
Iago AKA Dog

P.S. Otto is my cat.
